For your enjoyment a list of official updates to Aion in Season 2.
New published by Korean Aion Team
[Character Creation/Deletion]

From this CBT onward
players are not allowed to play both races and must choose between
Elyos or Asmodian. Players are given an option to choose a race during
the creation of their first character, and the same race is selected
automatically for any subsequent characters created.
1.The background and interface of the login stage have been modified.
2.Characters now perform various actions during the Character Selection and Creation steps.
3.The Character Creation rules have been changed.
A.Character names must be 10 letters or less in Korean or English letters, and may not include numbers.
B.New facial and physical feature settings have been added for more flexible customization.
4.The Character Deletion stand-by period is 5 minutes for characters under Level 20,
and 7 days for those at or above Level 20.
[Character]
The character cap has been raised to Level 34 for part 2 of the CBT. Here are the other changes.
Changes
1.HP/MP recovery rate while sitting down has been increased.
2.Death/Resurrection
penalties are not applied if killed by an enemy PC, only if the
character was killed by a NPC or monster that inflicted higher damage.
(Level is not decreased if there are resurrection penalties already in
effect.)
3.If 10 seconds have elapsed since taking off for flight,
then it is possible to take off again immediately after landing.
However, the flight duration and flying gauge recovery period remain
unchanged.
Additions
1.There are new obtainable titles which can be obtained from newly opened areas.
2.For
a brief period following login or teleportation, characters blink and
are invincible. If a character moves or enters combat before the
invincible period ends, then it becomes attackable.
[New Environments]
Areas that were
inaccessible in Season 1Eltnen in Elysea, and Morheim in Asmodae are
now open. Both areas can only be played by those of the eligible race
who are at or above Level 20, and players can also venture into the
opposing race’s area through a Rift. To teleport to a new area players
must complete the mission starting quests [Elyos: Fortress Commander’s
Order], [Asmodian: Supporting the Altgard Fortress] which can be
obtained once they reach Level 10.
Eltnen
This is
a mid-level area that Elyos will experience after the Verteron region,
and a place where many traces of Atreia’s glorious past are found. It
can be reached by road from Verteron or by teleportation.

Morheim
This
is the next adventuring area for Asmodians after Altgard. The climate
and environment are different to those of Eltnen. It can be reached by
road from Altgard or by teleportation.

[Rifts]
In many parts of Eltnen
and Morheim, Rifts will open to allow players to enter the areas of the
opposing race. These passages will remain open permanently during the
CBT.
1. Rifts are distributed throughout Eltnen and Morheim.
2. Caution is advised when passing through a Rift, as it teleports the character to a random place in the opposing race’s area.
3. Players can return to their own area through a Rift located in the opposing race’s area.
[Abyss Points]
If you have already seen
the Abyss Points and the Rank Information in the Character Status
Window, then you are probably wondering how you can get these Abyss
Points. Abyss Points are earned by entering the opposing race’s area
via a Rift and then killing their characters or NPC guards. More ways
of obtaining Abyss Points will be introduced in the future.
1. Abyss Points earned can be viewed in the Abyss Tab of the Character Status Window.
2. Abyss Points are not only earned, but can also be lost when killed by enemies in combat.
3. Defeating a higher ranked enemy yields more Abyss Points, and also less points are lost if defeated by a higher ranked enemy
4. If you are a member of a Legion, Legion Contribution Points will increase when you get Abyss Points.
[Legion]
Changes have been
introduced to make it easier to increase Legion Levels, and Legions can
reach up to Level 3 by accumulating Contribution Points. More benefits
are available to Legions upon reaching Level 3.
1. The cost of raising the Legion Level has been reduced significantly.
2. During CBT 2, a Legion’s Contribution Points accumulate only when its members get Abyss Points.
3. The following functions become available when a Legion reaches Level 3:
A. User-created Legion Emblems can be registered through the ‘Legion Emblem Officer’.
(24-bit, 256x256 emblem.bmp or emblem.tga files must be saved in the Aion installation folder)
B. Legion
Members can purchase Legion Shields from the Legion Merchant. Legion
Shields maybe equipped by characters of Level 20 or higher.

Cloaks have been added. Legion Cloaks can be viewed upon joining a
Legion, and the cloak displays the Legion Emblem. A display/hide Legion
Cloak setting is available in the Options.

Appearance Modification
1. Upon reaching Level 30 players can go to city NPCs to modify the appearance of items.
2. To
modify appearance you must have an item that will confer its appearance
as well as the item to be modified, and the appearance-conferring item

carrying out a Craft Request, and it is also possible to collect
certain materials or Designs.
