Questions regarding Aion Q&A

AION THE TOWER OF ETERNITY PRESS MEETING

Q. What are some methods of jumping into the Abyss from the normal field?

A. Players will gain entry to the Abyss through a quest that comes around mid-level. To take an entrance for example, the Verterron Fortress Floating Object is such a case. These objects were meant to serve as guardians to the ?abyss gates.?

Q. How much role do the NPCs play in RVR in terms of balancing?

A. We?re still fine-tuning the NPC balance. To make sure of its completion we?re going to need all the feedbacks we can get from the CBT.

Q. Is it possible for a single guild to dominate several fortresses?

A. Of course it?s possible. But Aion?s battles are open 24 hours unlike that of Lineage. So it?s very difficult for a single guild to maintain two or more fortresses. Players play a large role in maintaining the fortresses as well.

Q. How often will the Balaur intervene?

A. The Balaur can spawn in multiple locations at the same time. We?re still fine-tuning the spawning time but the interval is around two hours.

Q. Are there smaller-scale battles or contents fit for E-sports?

A. Capturing artifacts would be considered a smaller-scale battle. Capturing artifacts by itself presents its own rewards aside from capturing fortresses. It will provide a party-level strategy feel. Aion?s main concept is RvR, so guild-based battles will not be implemented until much later.

Q. Will solo contents be available even after mid-level?

A. Much more than party and guild-based contents. Playing in the Abyss is completely optional and up to the player. But, the Abyss yields much more rewards due to its relatively high level of danger.

Q. Is there an analysis of character class ratio, and will there be a regulation on character creation?

A. We have the figures but we haven?t made it official, we?re preparing to present it through CBT.

Q. What?s the main difference between the Elyoss and the Asmodians?

A. They share the same roots. The Asmodians simply decided to gradually change their appearance to differentiate themselves from the Elyos. The Asmodians will level up a little faster than the Elyos in the beginning, but becomes slower than the Elyos later on so the total time required to reach the max level will approximately be the same for both races. (Open beta max level will be about 40) Characters? outer appearance will become noticeably different at levels 9, 19, 29 and so on.

Q. Is there a systematic support for scouting and invasion?

A. Mainly quests and contents will play the role. Players will naturally enter the enemy territory by following the quests and engage in battles with the opposing factions for rewards.

Q. How are Direct Portals formed?

A. They are rather irregular and different for each region. There will be indicators such as the colour of the sky changing, and the two regions of similar level range will be linked to facilitate level PvP. There are also Direct Portal-involving quests with excellent rewards which will motivate players to participate.
